DIY Repurposed Door Bar Station

I’ve got a super fun DIY project for you today! This is a perfect DIY if you love entertaining.

We were at a yard sale one day, and I saw this old black door with a window. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to do with it, but I knew I couldn’t pass it up. The idea came to make a bar station for the patio out of it. So, that’s exactly what I did! And, I’ll show you how to make one, too!

DIY Repurposed Door Bar Station

Supplies Needed:

A door (doesn’t have to have a window)

4 stair spindles

Wood for shelves (I used barnwood)

2 brackets

Paint

Screws to screw legs to shelf

Screws to screw door to wall (optional, but made it very sturdy)

Fun options to add:

Bottle Opener

Decorative Hook or Knob to hold a hand towel

Directions:

  1. Paint your door and spindles. Distress if desired.

Since my door was already black, I just painted the spindles black to match. Once everything dried, I went back with a sander and distressed it for a more rustic look.

  2. Cut the wood for your shelves.

You can make as many, or as few, shelves as you like.

  3. Attach your shelves, brackets, and spindles to the door.

You can screw through the bottom shelf into the spindles to secure the bottom part. Also, screw the spindles into the door. For the top shelf, you can screw the brackets in first, then attach the shelf.

  4. Stand your door up and screw to the wall if needed.

  5. Add any decorative options.

I love having a bottle opener handy and a cute hook to hang a towel.

I love our DIY repurposed door bar station. It has been so handy and practical when we have parties!

How to use a DIY Repurposed Door Bar Station:

Place a drink dispenser, glasses, straws, and napkins on the shelf. Guests can easily grab a drink from your stylish door bar station!

Place a drink tub on the shelf, and fill with ice and drinks. Your party guests can grab a bottle, and use the bottle opener to easily open it.

Keep can koozies in a little bucket for an extra touch. So handy!

For a more dressy occasion, place a vase of flowers with colorful cloth napkins, and a pitcher of sweet tea or lemonade.

I love these chalkboard label mugs so guests can keep up with their glass!

Don’t forget the party straws!

When you aren’t using the door bar station to entertain, you can use it as a potting bench to keep up with your garden. Or, just place pretty rustic things on it!

Told you this was a fun DIY! Now, go grab an old door and make your own DIY bar station!
