Do you want to know how to celebrate being debt free? That is a big accomplishment to celebrate, and today I’ve got 15 ideas to help you find the perfect way to celebrate being debt free!

After you pay off debt, you will definitely want to celebrate your achievement!

There are so many things you could do!

When we paid off our mortgage (you can read more about that here), we decided to take a dream trip to Hawaii!

You may want to take a vacation, host a party, or any other number of ideas listed below!

I’ll never forget the day we paid off our mortgage. We wrote the last check and the feeling was unreal!

I ordered a cookie cake with the writing “We’re Debt Free” and we went out to dinner that night. We were almost delirious with excitement – we wanted to tell everyone we walked by that we we’re debt free!

Of course, we didn’t do that, but we did still want to celebrate our accomplishment together!

A week later, we headed off to Maui, Hawaii for a week! We celebrated becoming debt free and our wedding anniversary.

1. Have a cake made.

We had this cookie cake made to celebrate the occasion! Cake always makes things feel like a celebration! 🙂

2. Go on a vacation!

We went to Maui, Hawaii and it was a dream! Plan a vacation to somewhere you love to go or somewhere you have dreamed about going.

Just make sure not to go back in debt for the vacation! Keep saving the money you would have saved to pay your debt, and take the vacation when you have enough saved!

3. Host a party.

We didn’t tell a lot of people about becoming debt free, but if people in your life are following your debt free journey, you may want to have a party!

Invite close friends and family to celebrate in your accomplishment and thank them for supporting you through your debt free journey.

4. Go out to a nice dinner.

Celebrate being debt free by going to a nice dinner at a place you love or have always wanted to go.

Treat yourselves for accomplishing such a huge goal!

Have someone take your photo, too!

5. Take a week off work.

Take a road trip to celebrate being debt free and visit several places you’ve always wanted to go!

This would be a fun way to unwind, relax, and just enjoy the freedom of being debt free and road tripping.

7. Cross something off your bucket list.

Since you have just accomplished a huge goal, why not do something else on your bucket list to celebrate?

Sometimes a calm date night at home is just perfect. Keep the celebration private, and have a fun date night at home.

Take off on an adventure to celebrate being debt free! Go for a hike you’ve been wanting to try, go white water rafting, ride in a helicopter!
