What could you do with an extra $1000? How would $1000 change your life – in a big way or small way?

Would it mean not having to worry about paying bills for the month? Or a big jump on saving to pay cash for a new car?

Having an extra $1000 could mean a nice vacation, or fixing up your house.

We all have different financial needs and priorities, but one thing we all have in common is that more money means more possibilities.

One of my big goals for the year is to increase our savings account. For us, $1000 more dollars in our savings account gives us peace of mind. We have money set aside for emergencies and unexpected costs.

I created this $1000 money saving challenge to help us all reach our goals, $1000 at a time.

Work through this challenge to save $1000, and then do it again to save another $1000!

Let’s go reach our money goals! 🙂

First, let’s think about some of the things you can do with $1000.

With $1000, you could:

  • Take a vacation
  • Complete a home repair project
  • Start or grow your emergency fund
  • Save to pay cash for a new car
  • Complete a room makeover
  • Buy a new washing machine + have money leftover
  • Save for your kid’s college or wedding fund
  • Start that new business venture

You can do a lot with $1000, so let’s start saving that money!

Why do YOU want to save $1000?

Do you have some goals you want to reach this year – if so, start there! Take a look at your goals and priorities, and decide what the $1000 will go towards.

Knowing what you are saving for and why will help you stay motivated and determined to keep going and saving money.

Just saving money to save money will not be enough to keep you going on tough days. Think about what this money will do for you and your family.

Write this down on the printable $1000 money saving challenge checklist.

Why this $1000 Money Saving Challenge works:

When you make a goal to save money, you have to be specific to actually stick with it. If you just say you want to save money, that’s great but what are you going to do specifically to make that happen?

I love a good challenge, so this format works great to challenge you to stick with your goal. Having a specific goal, with a measurable outcome in a challenge format is the perfect recipe for success!
