I’m so glad you found your way here! I’m Amanda, creator and owner of The Little Frugal House. I hope you find your way around and find some helpful and fun posts along the way!
I love living a simple and frugal lifestyle, always have, always will. Seriously, as far back as I can remember, I have been a frugal girl.
My dad would take me to The Dollar Tree and I would come back with the best goodies! I remember telling him that I thought everything should be $1 including tax so you could just hand over your dollars.
I started working at the age of 15, bagging groceries, and saving as much money as I could… and then proceeding to blow it all my freshman year of college. That didn’t last long, I hated not having a savings account! I got a job again at the grocery store and saved all that I could. I was budgeting my way through college – trying to pay my car off as fast as I could, paying back student loans, budgeting for gas, groceries, sorority dues, and a little bit of fast food. I was a super cool kid, let me tell you! 😉
My biggest accomplishments so far (at least, money wise) are paying off my car and my student loans before getting married to my husband (who also loves to save money!). I had those 2 big goals for myself, and I was so glad to reach them and enter our marriage debt free… and then buy a house and get back in debt! But we are well on our way to pay that off as well, and I would love to share this journey to be debt free with you!
And speaking of my wonderful husband and our little house… Let me introduce you!
This is me, Amanda! Hi!
And my handsome hubby! We’ve been together for 9 years and married almost 3! (Yes, I know we look like babies! They say we will appreciate that one day…)
We love to be outdoors, work on projects around the house, and enjoy our life in the country! There’s nothing like hearing all the neighbors’ livestock early in the morning and seeing all kinds of animals driving down our road. I simply love the peace and quiet we have found in our little home sweet home!
This is usually what I look like on the weekends, don’t be fooled by the nicer photo above! haha!
Speaking of our home… here she is! The result of a nasty fixer upper + 2 young, broke, soon-to-be newlyweds + 1.5 years of blood, sweat, and tears. It’s not huge, it’s not fancy, but it’s perfect for us. I couldn’t be more proud to be homeowners and to share my home with my sweet husband.
Big love grows in little homes.
Oh, and meet my dogs! They are the best dogs in the whole world and I love them so so much!! They are known as the pup squad around here! #pupsquad
(Warning: Crazy Dog Mom ahead)
Loves to nap in the sun, on the couch, in her bed, really anywhere. Loves to shake hands and eat treats.
Also referred to as a sausage link. And Doo Doo (don’t ask me to explain that one.)
Daisy can be a goober, but I love her so much. Sometimes I talk to her and I really think she understands. She is always there for me. Unless she ran away that day.
This is her “What did you wake me up for?” face. “Are you going to rub my belly or just look at me?”
Loves to shake hands. So polite! Do you believe I taught her this trick at 5 years old? Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!?
Happy face! She loves the sunshine! Me too, Daisy, me too.
Loves to watch out the window, chase squirrels, follow me from room to room, and cuddle with Daddy.
She has a heart of gold and I don’t deserve her, but I hug her every day and tell her I love her! I hope she knows!
Baby Roxy with her Daddy! She just loves him!!
No sense of personal space.
Teaching yoga on the weekends.
I love my chunky monkey!!!
Bo loves to cross his legs like a proper pup, eat everything in sight, and follow Roxy everywhere.
He is the sweetest little pup and I just love him so!! He is such a cutie and makes me smile & laugh constantly!
Short story: We actually got Bo from a deal I made with my husband. He wanted to buy a tractor and I wanted to get a puppy from next door. We were debating back and forth on both. We were sitting on the swing one afternoon, decided life is short, and we should get the tractor and the puppy! In the same day! I thought we had lost our minds, but both have worked out great!
That baby face! I can just smell the puppy breath looking at this pic!
Roxy being the best big sister to Bo from day 1! They are best friends!
“Hi, mom!” Those whiskers!!
A proper pup crosses his legs.
Sorry for the dog overload, but I really do love these little stinkers! They are such sweeties and such good company.
Now, you’ve met the whole crew at The Little Frugal House!
